Hi Anne,
How is it in Tanzania. Don't they have a lot of mineral resources and of course Kilimanjaro?
all the best,
Mark

www.nature.com/nclimate/journal/vaop/ncurrent/full/nclimate1528.html This needs further discussion on sites like this, we are dealing with 'mad scientists' we really are.

GM Suspends Volt Production... Harryhammer's everywhere dispair. :-*

"Now, before any GM diehards accuse me of dumping on the General again, please believe me: I take no glee in reporting the temporary (and perhaps even permanent) demise of the next big thing that wasn’t."

World's first electric car built by Victorian inventor in 1884

hi amirlach, I still prefer this model than the volt.

You could at least look cool driving it! :D

You should like this article about the massive advances in range the electric car has made in 100 years(NOT!). www.lowtechmagazine.com/2010/05/the-status-quo-of-electric-cars-better-batteries-same-range.html

Hi Anne,
I don't think he is stupid enough to go through with it. There is so much peer reviewed literature out there that has discredited the infamous made-up hockey stick graph. Even the IPCC has distanced itself from his fabricated 'graph'.

Of course the religious flock worship falsehoods!

The IPCC moved on. Why would they use an old graph when there is SO MUCH new information on atmospheric CO2?

Discredited?!? By who, the Cabal Of No Qualifications? What about the 11 hockey sticks that have been created by independent teams of researches since Mann's original? No one has disproved them.

You seem to be stuck in a never ending echo chamber.

Drewski, the hockey stick been discredited by Gaia herself. C02 levels have been rising for the last 15 years and global temperatures have been static.

Stick that in your echo chamber. :P

Gaia includes the oceans doesn't it? Why don't you check what they have been up to then get back to me.

And the big brown Asian cloud of particulates has been proven to restrict sunlight reaching the surface.

And, of course, you are aware that Arctic temps have been higher than than normal -- just happens to be in the same spot where CO2 concentrations are at their highest. Coincidence?

Nice projection there...

Sorry Comrade drewski but those "newer observations and newer studies" have further refuted the Hockey Stick. This graph plainly shows that the Mann hockey stick has been refuted.

"The distinctive frauds of the Mann hockey stick graph were its portrayal of a largely unchanging climate (a slight and near-linear decline from the MWP to the LIA) until the 20th C, and its commingling of different data sets over different periods. The above graph still commits the latter epistemological sin, but clearly refutes the Mann hockey stick on the former. Of the seven temperature records graphed, only three extend back to the MWP, and of those three, two show that the peak of the MWP was warmer than the 1990s. The lone dissenting record, which more closely recapitulates the Mann hockey stick is --

"-- surprise, surprise -- a reconstruction by two of the biggest AGW fraudsters, Phil Jones and Mann himself. In addition, even the temperature reconstructions that don't go back to the MWP clearly show temperatures establishing an up-trend by the early 18th C, again refuting Mann's contention that temperatures did not begin to increase until CO2 became a significant influence in the 20th C."

The claim that this graph "independently reproduces" the Mann hockey stick is a flat-out fabrication. Another fraudulent Mann temperature reconstruction is not an independent confirmation, and the truly independent parts of the graph plainly show that late 20th C was no warmer than the peak of the MWP."

All this refutation without even going into the "Hide the Decline" fraud. The dropping of the tree ring data when it became inconvienient.

Here is a graphic showing the deleted data in red.

Wow! I keep forgetting how sharp that big blade is at the end of the stick.

How in the world does that graph show the hockey stick has been discredited? BTW, you may want to alert the National Academy of Sciences about your "proof" -- they don't seem to have gotten the memo.

Hi Anne

There are lots of scare stories emerging at the moment here in Blighty, apparently almost all the ice in the Arctic has gone, we have reached a tipping point where the co2 released from the melting ice is accelerating Global warming, there are daily stories about catastrophic Climate Change etc etc,

Where are these stories? The BBC of course,

Every day new evidence is shown on the 'News' along with the same old familiar library footage of the same ice floes breaking up that we have seen so many times, now, I wonder why it's just the BEEB that is spearheading this propaganda push?

Any ideas?

In April, when the sea ice extent had recovered somewhat, there was saory after story that the arctic will recover and alarmists are wrong again. Where were all those stories? Climate Disbadshit of course.

Drewski, some good news for you, the Antarctic sea ice is 900,000km2 more than the average since records began. (1979 actually) Where are the stories about that?

Also when you type in the request to google it comes up with the Arctic.

You have to dig deep for these type of facts. :D

Tez, I have read at least 6 stories about Antarctica -- very easy to find.

I know that they have gained about 1/3 the volume of ice that the Arctic has lost in the past decade and that they have very different characteristics to the other pole. Such as: they have a very large ozone hole above them and they are a continent surrounded by ocean rather than a an ocean surrounded by continents as is the Arctic.

I have also learned that land masses heat more quickly than the oceans and that is why the Arctic was always predicted to be the canary in the coal mine for global warming. I have also learned that all the world's oceans and sea have warmed approximately 0.1 degree in the past 10 years (What would cause such UNIFORM warming? hmmmm)

But, don't worry, warming is coming to us all, including Antarctica

Here's a Peer Reviewed Paper that explains it. Quote:
The paper finds the "overall global temperature change sequence of events appears to be from 1) the ocean surface to 2) the land surface to 3) the lower troposphere," in other words, the opposite of claims by global warming alarmists that CO2 in the atmosphere drives land and ocean temperatures. Instead, just as in the ice cores, CO2 levels are found to be a lagging effect of ocean warming, not significantly related to man-made emissions, and not the driver of warming.

Nowhere in that response was the explanation as to why the oceans have heated up in the first place. Or whay the heat has built up so uniformly (as in global).

Likely the usual "Adjustments" to the data by the usual suspects. :zzz Quote:
The important point here is that the ARGO corrections had already been done as described in the 2007a paper when Willis admitted the “slight cooling” in the NPR article in March 2008.

However, if we look at the ARGO data as it is presented in 2011 by NOAA, the “slight cooling ” from 2003 to 2007 has been replaced by a slight warming.
tallbloke.wordpress.com/2012/02/27/argo-the-mystery-of-global-warmings-missing-heat/

Once again Model Predictions failed despite the data fiddling.

And the data before adjustments...

drewski your claims of warming oceans have no basis in reality.

Funny how data that doesn't support the theory gets either "Adjusted" or deleted.

Drewski: Not sure where you get your data from, but this NOAA study shows that the oceans warmed by .09C from 1955 to 2010 for the layer 0 to 2000m ie bugger all :P

www.agu.org/pubs/crossref/2012/2012GL051106.shtml

Also sea rise was measured as .5mm per year which is 50mm per century ie bugger all :P

The uniform warming is caused mainly by solar radiation.

BTW I am not worried if the world warms, we are currently in a cold period and Gaia's historical preference is for much warmer climes.

Jambo Joker and Mark, getting used to it here now but working hard, hope to go to Egypt in three weeks for a nice break and a bit of snorkling. I know what you mean, I can't watch a nature programme on TV in UK any more as they constantly bring in AGW, can no longer listen to radio 4 as it is so biased. Its been a nice 65 degrees today but was extremely cold last night here in the Northern Highlands, a few of us are going to the spice markets tomorrow as it's our day off. Hoping to see Ngnorongoro crater before I return this time. Nice to hear from you Joker and Mark
