Money $marts: The global warming energy follies

Global warming, also known as climate change, is the theory that the earth is warming rapidly (in relative historical terms) due to the growing concentration of atmospheric greenhouse gases emanating from mankind’s burning of fossil fuels — coal and oil in particular — for energy.
The theory is enormously popular among the big government, environmental protection and sustainability crowd and for a time, its advocates, backed up by a “consensus” of scientists, were also able to garner significant public support which in turn led to political support in Washington, which led to legislative proposals (e.g. cap and trade) to deal with the “potentially catastrophic” problem. Thankfully, real world developments have served to undermine the theory that was dubious in the first place.
Two sequential public exposures of thousands of e-mail communications among “climate” scientists have showcased the decidedly unscientific self serving analytical approach taken by some academics in government-funded university laboratories. Falsified data, squashing of adverse opinions and intimidation were typical methodologies for presenting a unified scientific consensus that the global warming problem is real. Apparently, these scientists were in the Al Gore propaganda mode.
But the real theory kicker is the unexplainable “inconvenient truth” of the lack of global warming for more than a decade now. Even the faux scientists can’t explain this “travesty” to their theoretical dogma. Additional warming should be evident, that is, unless the computerized models used by warming crowd are all wrong in their assumptions about the carbon dioxide buildup/global warming causation. Heaven forbid these guys and gals should have to go back to the drawing board. Bye, bye government grants; hello indoctrinating ignorant students for a living.

That's what usually happens.
Talking of the opposition, we ain't heard much of Drewski lately, he must be in hibernation because of all this Global Warming type cold weather, no doubt he will be crawling out of his dirty little burrow along with all the other warmists come spring!
-8 here in rural UK, heard on the news last night it was -47 in parts of Russia, that's colder than Antartica this time of year. Folks have been dying from the cold over there, I bet no one dares mention Global Warming to those guys.
Although the scam is collapsing at the top, it will still run for some at grass roots level, in our local paper there are lots of stories of 'Green initiatives to combat climate change' usually involving schools and youth groups. it's gonna take years before that fizzles out.
