Cartoon - Climate ScienceThe Earth's temperature hasn't increased significantly in about 15 years, which wouldn't be big news except global warming extremists had predicted temperatures would soar during that time because of manmade greenhouse-gas emissions.

That forecast would be just another failed hypothesis, except governments around the world used the threatened overheating as an excuse to regulate, tax and subsidize in order to curb greenhouse gases and, of course, to save the Earth.

In 1989 the Miami Herald quoted a U.N. environment official who warned of a “10-year window of opportunity to solve” global warming, because “entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000.” We know how that turned out.

There are new forecasts today.

Great Britain’s heretofore hotbed of global warming alarmism, East Anglia’s Climate Research Center, now says there been no meaningful warming since 1997. Indeed, the Earth may even be cooling, according to Britain’s Meteorological Office. The Met, as it’s called, said we are entering a period of slower solar activity, perhaps as severe as the solar slump from 1645-1715, the coldest part of the Little Ice Age, when Britain’s river Thames and Holland’s canals froze over.

Hey amirlach! The video would not play, but I read something on this the other day from Reuters and thought the same. I live in the middle of one of the largest migratory routes in the world and am able to enjoy many different birds throughout the year. I'm looking forward to my first local Snowy Owl sighting.

Here is the article...

www.reuters.com/article/2012/01/28/us-owls-migration-idUSTRE80R0MP20120128

I think it is safe to say they are not fleeing an abundance of food, or warmer than average temperatures, and the article says the population is not expanding.

"He said snowy owl populations are believed to be in an overall decline, possibly because a changing climate has lessened the abundance of vegetation like grasses that lemmings rely on."

Milder Arctic temperatures kill grasses? :o

I know grasses like the additional CO2.

Oh yeah, that's why they changed the name to 'climate change'. Any change is wrong, and of course our fault. ;-)
